JOY Yarn Bottle Holiday Decor How To

It’s Thursday! Hip hip hooray! I’m ready for the weekend already. This week is going pretty quickly, but I’m not feeling too hot. Talk about a total bummer since I’m running a 30K this Sunday. Here’s to lots of rest before then so I can run at my best!

I’m linking up again with Katie and Stephanie for Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. to share a project I made a while back! It’s actually quite different than the original pin. This yarn bottle joy decor originated with this lovely joy bottle decor and evolved into my final creation.

My Pinspiration:

My JOY Yarn Bottle Decor:

I wanted to take the yarn look and tie it into Christmas decor! The best part is that it actually can stay up all year round. All I need to do it swap the O to an & and the Y to an A! Then you have J & A.

Yarn Bottle JOY Decor How To

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to create this one. Here’s how to do it:

Supplies

  • 3 bottles {I used Snapple}
  • Your choice of colored yarn
  • Letters
  • Double-sided tape
  • Hot glue gun

Directions

  1. Put the double-sided tape around the entire bottom of the bottle. Then put tape up the side so your yarn will stick.
  2. Place a dab of hot glue at the yarn starting point.
  3. Start wrapping yarn from the bottom to the top of the bottle.
  4. Depending on the thickness of the yarn, you may need to wrap it back down to the bottom. {I did}
  5. Place a dab of hot glue at the yarn ending point.
  6. Glue your letters to the yarn and ta-da!

Here it is on my slightly cluttered bookshelves:

I didn’t have the heart to crop out my Christmas Moose! Especially since Maggie ate his partner.

This year’s Christmas Decor

Since we’re talking about Christmas decor, here are some of my other decorations!

This is the beautiful baker’s rack that my Auntie Annie gave the hubs and me! Seriously, I’m in love. We just got it this weekend. The decor on here isn’t final, just a bit I threw on there for now. The reindeer, Faith sign, and the mittens were all finds at First Monday in Canton!

My ‘noel’ letters I also got from First Monday. Yes, I could have made them, but why do that if I can buy them for pretty cheap? Time is money y’all.

And of course, I had to show y’all my Christmas tree! It’s little, but it’s ours and I love it.

I even was able to get Maggie to sit still for long enough in front of the tree to snap a picture! Love my little girl! So who’s ready for Christmas?! I AM!
