About Me Fitness Survey

I found an old post from 2013 with this fitness survey. I thought it would be fun to re-do it and have a look at what my health and fitness looked like then and now. Then I had no kids and I was a month away from quitting my desk job to become a full time personal trainer. Now I have two kids and I stay at home though I did train and teach classes until a year ago. Things are definitely different, but my love of health, fitness and helping people stays the same. Now let’s take a look at this About Me Fitness Survey.

1. What did you eat for breakfast?

Homemade cold brew coffee followed by my Shakeology! Today I had a vanilla latte shake with half vanilla/half coffee Shakeology, half a banana, a cup of almond milk and a lot of ice all blended up!

**If you’re interested in making your own cold brew at home, I recommend getting this easy to use cold brew pitcher from Amazon!

2. How much water do you drink a day?

A whole lot. Over 100oz daily.

Water drinking pro tip: ALWAYS have a water bottle or water cup with you and in your sight. The more often you see it, the more likely you are to drink it.

3. What is your current favorite workout?

Since I’m training for the runDisney Dopey challenge, running is my number one workout these days. I’m running 3 to 4 days a week depending on my training schedule. This weekend I have a 17 mile run to get in the books!

When I’m not running, HIIT workouts are definitely my favorite. Anything I can get done in under 30 minutes, sweat a ton and get my heartrate up is great for me. I love being able to workout at home in my driveway. Here’s a full body one that I tackled recently!

4. How many calories do you eat a day?

I couldn’t tell you. I don’t count my calories right now. As a breastfeeding mother who has lost her baby weight and is currently in maintenance mode while training for a marathon, I would say at least 2,000 calories.

5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?

  • Protein power ball bites (oats, honey, nut butter, protein powder and additional flavors or add ins of your choice)
  • Carrots and celery with hummus or Greek yogurt based dip
  • Popcorn
  • Larabars and Questbars
  • Smoothies
  • Lots of fruit!

Since I’ve been searching through old posts, I also found this article on healthy snack ideas. I still love and recommend all of these!

6. What do you usually eat for lunch?

It’s different every day. Some days a random assortment of foods or a smoothie, others I’ll have leftovers or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the kids. It really depends!

7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?

I’m a legs girl. Give me all the squats, lunges and cardio drills!

8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?

Upper body. I know I need to focus on it more, but I don’t enjoy it much.

That being said, here’s a link to a good upper body workout that focuses arms, shoulders and core. I know I need to be doing more often!

9. What are your “bad” food cravings?

Cookies and ice cream. I have the WORST sweet tooth. At the end of the day all I can think about is getting the kids in bed and finally sitting down on the couch with my ice cream watching tv with my hubby.

10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?

11. How often do you eat out?

Not very often. On average 1-2 times per week. Usually, one meal out or ordered in as a family for dinner. Occasionally, I’ll hit up Chick-fil-a or somewhere similar with the kids for lunch.

12. Do you eat fast food?

Not often and when I do, I’m very picky. Chick-fil-a, Subway, Panera Bread and very occasionally Taco Bell.

13. Who is your biggest supporter?

This guy 100%.

Along with our parents, siblings and my kids. We really have the most amazing, loving and supportive family you could ask for.

14. Do you have a gym membership?

Nope. I worked at a gym in Downtown Houston for 5 years as a wellness coach, personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I stepped away after Brody was born since the drive was a lot and it was harder to get childcare with two kids.

I’m thinking about stepping back into the group fitness world next year. I miss teaching classes and would love to start again. Until then, you can find my FREE workouts that I post every Wednesday on Instagram.

15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

7-8 hours. I need my sleep. I’m an early to bed, early to rise girl, so you’ll find me in bed by about 9:30pm most nights!

16. Do you have a “cheat” day?

Not really. I believe in healthy moderation, so I try not over indulge or deny myself any particular food group. I mentioned earlier that I have a terrible sweet tooth, so cutting out sweets makes me just want them more!

17. Do you drink alcohol?

Guilty. What can I say, wine is my friend.

18. Do you have a workout buddy?

Yes! I obviously have my two tiny workout buddies that keep me going during the week.

But I also have a few other friends that hold me accountable.

My girl Chandra who I met training for my first marathon. I told her we were going to be best friends. 7 years later, I’ve been a bridesmaid in her wedding and we have a combined 5 kids that keep us busy. We still meet up once a week to go on a walk, run or workout together!

My friend Meena who I actually know through my sister and comes to run with me on Thursdays. She’s actually starting now to train for her very first half marathon in February!

19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?

I committed to a healthy lifestyle when I discovered group fitness during my junior year of college. I’m so thankful that I started at a young age. It has helped me to take care of my body, make healthy choices and live my best life.

I’ve worked hard to lose weight after two babies, and I think that my healthy lifestyle before, during and after pregnancy made it all happen!

20. What was the last healthy thing you did?

This morning I walk/jogged 7 miles, and tomorrow I’m doing a 17 mile run for Dopey training!

That’s all folks!

Well that was fun and a little different from the posts that I’ve been doing lately. I hope this helped you to learn a little bit more about me, my healthy lifestyle and what I do to stay fit. It doesn’t come easy and I work for everything I’ve got!

Feel free to reach out with any questions about health or fitness. I love helping others and miss doing it on a full time basis!
