All in my 20’s

Today I’m taking a quick break from our travel adventures to talk about me. It’s my blog after all right? I kind of want to take a moment on my birthday eve to reflect on my 20’s and think of what’s to come in my 30’s.

My 20’s were pretty amazing. I lived life to the fullest and had some of my greatest milestones…

  • I lived up my college days in the ways most college students do.
  • I got engaged to my college sweetheart.
  • I graduated with an engineering degree and started my first “real” job.
  • I married the love of my life at the age of 22.
  • We started traveling the world adding 8+ countries and dozens cities to our map.
  • We moved across the country and adopted our first puppy.
  • I started my annual runDisney girls trip.
  • We bought our first “starter” townhome in the city.
  • We adopted our second puppy.
  • I ran my first {and second} marathon.
  • I quit my job and completely changed careers.
  • We got pregnant and delivered our perfect princess who totally changed our lives.
  • We saved and bought our dream home!
Literally some of life’s most significant milestones were in my 20’s and my 20’s were amazing. I loved my 20’s, but I’m kind of feeling like 30’s are the new 20’s. Now many may think that I’m only saying this because today is the LAST day of my 20’s, but I disagree. I loved having all of my “firsts” and major life events, but now I get to live it all out. I got married, adopted the pups, had my first baby and bought my dream house. Now all of that is done and I get to enjoy it!
The days of partying and drinking all night are behind me. Don’t get me wrong, they were FUN while they lasted and I’m not giving up alcohol, but you know what I mean. It’s too hard on me the next day to have a wild night. {Wow, I just sounded old.}
I found my man when I was 19. We had a lot of growing up to do then and luckily we grew together. Now we get to continue doing life together. The older we get the more fun we seem to have. We did just spend 3 weeks in Europe after all! I mean, the older we are, the more money we have too! More traveling, vacationing, living!
I made it through my first pregnancy and birth. Now I have my baby girl and I get to continue figuring out a life that revolves around her instead of me. Who knows, maybe another little Gougler will come along one day. {No, that wasn’t a pregnancy announcement. No baby here!}
I don’t know. For some reason, I just have a good feeling about 30. I know it’s going to be great!
