Chloe Grace: 5 Months Old

Happy New Year! New year, new goals, new hopes, new dreams. There is something so exciting about the idea of getting a fresh start. I’m looking forward to what 2016 has to offer, but I have to live in the past for a hot minute and jump back a few days to when this little angel turned 5 months old! I know I’m a week late, but I couldn’t skip documenting a month of this little girl!

This past month has been a wild one! We traveled, celebrated, partied and barely had time to relax. Chloe Grace is a busy little bee and does great with her ever changing environment. As much fun the last month has been, I’m looking forward to spending more time at home with her after this next trip!

Having her hands in her mouth is pretty much a constant these days. If it’s not her hands in her mouth, she’s pulling the hands of whoever is holder her to her mouth. She’s definitely teething which is tough on her and us! I hate seeing her uncomfortable, but there’s only so much we can do. She loves her Sophie Giraffe, fingers, frozen teethers and frozen breast milk right now. Speaking of breast milk, we’re still exclusively breast feeding and plan to continue to do so for another month. Then we’ll continue to nurse, but we’ll jump into the wide world of solids when she’s ready. Chloe got some yummy food in her stocking this year and I’ve frozen some bananas and breastmilk to start her off with!

We didn’t have our first solids this month, but we had tons of other firsts:

  • First plane ride
  • First trip to Orlando
  • First trip to Disney World
  • First time to sit up unsupported for almost a minute!
  • First graduation {Auntie Em’s!}
  • First Christmas

Chloe is at such a fun age! She’s much more interactive and the best facial expressions. You always know how this girl feels and what she’s thinking because she is so expressive! She’s usually very happy, but I also have a serious little girl on my hands. She’s a thinker and won’t smile for you if she doesn’t feel like it. Luckily, most of the time she does.
My darling Chloe Grace,
You are becoming such a big girl! On New Year’s Day, your Nonna told me that you were going to turn 1 year old this year. I told her “no she’s not!” I know that you are and I do hope you continue to grow big and strong, but I love my little baby girl. Each phase becomes more fun as your personality blossoms. And my what a personality you have! You’re all girl and come equipped with attitude and drama. I’m not convinced you get all of it from your momma, but maybe just a little.
You’re going through a teething phase which I know isn’t always comfortable, but know your momma is trying everything she can to make you feel better! Those mean teeth don’t feel good at all. Even though your growing teeth hurt, at least your growing hair doesn’t! You’re getting more and more head on that noggin of yours as it is finally coming back in where it fell out. It looks like your hair is going to be a bit lighter like mommy’s hair! It goes beautiful with your big blue eyes.
You love to be constantly on the move. When you’re laying down, your little legs just go go go. If your legs aren’t moving, you’re doing crunches and working on sitting up. You hands are always reaching around grabbing at toys, fingers and most of all momma’s hair! Everything you grab goes straight to your little mouth to chew or suck on. You’re favorite this to do is stand. Rolling over and sitting is overrated in your eyes. It’s all about standing. You also seem to think that you can do it all by yourself since you try and let go of our fingers! Don’t worry, we’re always there to catch you. We will be forever.
I can’t believe how fast time is flying my little angel. You are such a happy, serious, loving baby. You want to be held all the time these days. You have so many people that love you, so it’s pretty easy to make sure you’re happy and snuggled up. As always, I can’t wait to see what this next month has in store little girl. I love you to the moon and back. Keep being you!
I love you forever,
Momma
