Making Monday Motivational

Monday, Monday. Why so soon? I honestly have no reason to complain since I only have a 3 day work week, but my amazingly lazy Sunday could have been extended a few hours in preparation for my not so lazy weekend in Vegas 🙂

Speaking of Vegas, I’m still working my booty off to make sure that I look good at the pool of course!

Last Week’s Workouts
Monday: 4 mile run {8:35 pace} – lower body – quads, hamstrings, glutes
Tuesday: Elliptical trainer 40 minutes {4.5 miles varying intensities to increase burn!}
Wednesday: 3.4 mile easy run {8:49 pace} – upper body – biceps, triceps, lats, pecs, delts
Thursday: Abs and Push ups!
Friday: 3 mile walk/run around Memorial Park with hubs and pup
Saturday: Cardio Day – 55 minutes total split between the elliptical, stair master and treadmill
Sunday: OFF

Today I want to talk about Circuits! I just love circuit workouts. They’re the perfect all in one work out when you are short on time and still want to pack a punch. Of course, you can also lengthen these babies so that you’ll really feel sore the next day if you have the time! Circuit training allows you to combine both cardio and strength into one intense workout. Circuits are a series of moves performed one after the other with little rest in between. Depending on time, you can repeat multiple times. Here’s a sample workout that I created for y’all! Trust me, I’ve tested it and it’s awesome 🙂 I’m not biased or anything…

You can extend the cardio drill if you’re feeling up to it! If I’m doing this workout outside, I would probably run about a half mile of the cardio drill. However, at the gym it’s easier to just do cardio drills instead of jumping on a machine! Remember to warm up prior to your circuit and stretch a bit afterwards!

You better bet I’ll be doing this at the gym today! What are your workout plans for the week? Did you know that the gym is significantly more crowded on a Monday because people want to start their week strong especially after the weekend? Take the challenge to find yourself at the gym on Thursday and Friday too! Don’t get caught up in the beginning of the week motivation and lose it come the weekend! Just think of how much better you’ll feel!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Sharing is caring!
