Alright y’all, we are smack dab in the middle of wedding season! I don’t know about you, but I’ve already been to and been in a few weddings this year and I had to miss a few others since there were some on the SAME DATE! Ugh, I hate missing people’s weddings. But I digress. What I want to talk to y’all about today is what to wear as a wedding guest! I know that as soon as a wedding is approaching, we all scour our closets and quickly announce that we have absolutely nothing to wear. Is it true? Or are we just looking for another chance to go shopping? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the shopping, but I’ve found quite a few dresses in my closet to re-wear to weddings! To me, the perfect wedding attire is a cute little cocktail dress. We can handle that right? Let’s take a look back at what I was able to dig out of my closet, shall we?
Okay above we have a March wedding. Ladies, don’t be afraid to wear beige to a wedding. Trust me, the bride won’t be offended. It’s not white, it’s beige. We can even call it champagne if you will. I originally bought this dress with my friend Nicole to wear to her bachelorette party in February! The wedding was about a month and a half later plus none of the people from the bachelorette party were at the wedding. It was a win-win situation for me!
This dress I originally bought for my engagement pictures in September 2009. It worked great for a July 2010 wedding. Simple, strapless, A-line cocktail dress! You really can’t go wrong with that.
Okay so this dress is one of my favorites. You can totally dress it up or down! It’s actually a pretty simple cotton dress with woven sleeves from Franchesca’s – obsessed! {Yes my H-town blogger ladies, I wore this dress to our meet up last weekend!} I wore this dress to Lia Joy‘s wedding in August 2010! Usually to dress it up, I would wear heels. Unfortunately, due to some serious blisters from running, I had to stick to flats. I still think it worked!
Let’s change the pace just a bit and talk about a winter wedding! Just because it’s freezing outside, doesn’t mean you have to forego the pretty dresses! This wedding was in early December, so I felt like a bold red was totally appropriate. In order to keep warm, I wore a simple black sweater and black tights {which you can’t see and I don’t seem to have a full length picture!} Oh and the best part about this wedding is we were all asked to wear Sunday hats 🙂 Just like at the Royal Wedding. What fun!
Do y’all have any weddings coming up? What is your usual wedding attire? My next wedding to attend is in September with two in October! I’m really looking forward to going to these fall weddings!
