Twenty two years ago today, my mother gave birth to her second child, a daughter, the girl I would call my best friend for life. I am so thankful that God blessed me and my family with Emily Christine Timmer. Without her, my life wouldn’t be the same.
Over the past twenty two years…
…I have let you crawl all over me and pull my hair.
…I have taught you everything I know.
…I have watched you go from a tiny ballerina, to a soccer goalie, to a volleyball superstar, to an amazing track athlete.
…I have bossed you around and for some reason you listened. Well…most of the time.
…I have seen you transform from a little girl into a gorgeous woman.
…I have shared stories, secrets and sleepovers.
…I have shrunk and you have grown. Or maybe you just grew taller than me. I’m the little BIG sister.
…I have shared countless memories that I wouldn’t have any other way.
…I have seen you at your worst and best. Okay, our worst and best 🙂
…I have watched you graduate from preschool to elementary, middle to high school, and then from college at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
…I have loved you unconditionally and called you my best friend.
What will the next twenty two years bring? Who knows? It’s your choice baby girl. Make your own decisions and design your own path. The world is yours and you have so much to offer! Happy 22nd birthday to my baby sister and best friend. i love you. times five.
I also want to wish my amazing parents a happy 26th wedding anniversary. Can you believe it? Twenty six years and they still love each other. I’m so blessed to have them as role models. They taught me was true, unconditional love was by loving me and loving each other. I love you Mommy & Daddy.
