Where did Christmas go?

Does anyone else feel like Christmas came and went abnormally fast this year? I can’t decide if my favorite time of year flew by because I was pre-occupied with moving or if each year time is starting to tick faster and faster. Who knows…maybe a combination of the two.

Anywho…how was your Christmas??? I must say that mine was WONDERFUL. Christmas Eve Eve, we had our annual Timmer-Billingsley Christmas. Mr. Buddy and Ms. Robin and their 3 boys are like family to us…let’s just say I made them Mother’s day and Father’s day cards for them when I was younger 🙂 Every year we spend Christmas Eve Eve with them, exchange gifts, eat good food and have a few {or several} adult beverages.

With my sweet hubby

This year, as always, was a blast. JP and I had to leave a little early to go to one of my besties wedding showers!!! We had a great time and we even won one of the games. Needless to say, by the end of the day, we were stuffed and tired!

Pretty cake!

Christmas Eve was eventful…you can read about that here.

Christmas day was perfect. As always, the Timmer clan was up at the crack of dawn…or 6am and ready to open presents {who said that getting older means you have to be less excited about Santa coming?} Some of my favorite presents were my new Kindle from the hubby, a gorgeous light pink blazer from my sister, house decor from my brothers, new black boots, clothes and more new house stuff from mom, dad and Santa! I am so blessed to have such an amazing, giving family. One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing my momma’s face light up when she opened her new Coach purse from me. I love that I was able to give her something nice that she wanted and needed. It’s the least I could do after everything that she has done for me over the past 24 years!

Santa came!!! And we all made the nice list 🙂

The kids after church

After presents, we went to the 8a.m. mass at St. Laurence and it was beautiful. We love this Christmas mass because we’re already up and it’s the least crowded of all the masses. It’s always more enjoyable when you’re able to sit! Later that morning, I went to pick up some family friends and their two babies. It was fun spending the day with them, playing the Wii and eating a delicious meal prepared by my dad, my husband and myself. Since Momma was hurt, the boys had kitchen duty with a little direction from me. I didn’t help too much because after getting things situated with them, I took off on an 8 mile run! I wasn’t too excited about it before I got started, but I quickly got into my rhythm and finished in 1:08:50!

Later Christmas evening, the hubs and I headed over to our friend Courtney’s house for some fun with our all of our Sugar Land friends! We played some fun holiday games, drank some wine and enjoyed each other’s company.

Friends! Kind of an awkward pic…I’ll post some other great ones we took on Leah’s camera later!

Yesterday, we packed up the car and headed to College Station for Christmas with JP’s family! We had so much fun yesterday and were so happy that we got to see EVERYONE!!! My sis-in-law Kate and I went to the mall in the afternoon and made out with some really cute stuff from Express on super-duper sale! Shopping was followed by dinner at La Bodega which is one of my favorite spots in College Station. After dinner, we all collapsed and I passed out on the couch completely!

Today we’re still in College Station and I’m working from the Gougler casa! I love this town so much and have missed it greatly over the past year. It definitely makes me feel like I’m back in college again! We’re actually thinking about staying another night! My goal is to take some pictures while we’re here since I didn’t get a single one yesterday! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day and is either enjoying their time off or making it through a hopefully easy day at work!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
