Show me your Race Face!

So I’m super excited today because Kyra and Mel are hosting a link up all about action shots from races! I am a huge nerd. Y’all, I look for cameras and smile big at them just so I can say that some of my race pictures turned out. Even if I don’t buy them. Like I said, huge nerd.

Now let’s take a walk down memory lane and look at some of my race faces 🙂 {Click the race titles for a full race recap if you’re interested!}

First up, 2011 Aramco Houston Half Marathon.
I’m wearing a hat which means it’s raining. Behind me, you can see lots of faces that look less than excited, but me, I am clearly thrilled. Or am I? Let’s be honest, I’m running so I probably am pretty happy!

2012 Sugar Land Finish Line Sports 30K
At this time, this was my longest race distance ever! It was in December, but it was hot and miserable. Don’t let this happy face fool you. This is starting lap 2 of a 3 lap race. By lap 3, I was hurting with tears in my eyes. Luckily the hubs or my sister snapped this awesome one of me pre meltdown!

2013 Chevron Houston Marathon
My first marathon. I am a marathoner. It took all my energy to put my hands up, but I did it! And there’s even a smile on my face.

2013 Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon
I’m a happy camper here! First half marathon post full marathon. I’m clearly happy that I’m only going half the distance. Another hot, humid, sweaty loop course. I’m much happier at loop 1 than I am at loop 3 as usual.

2013 Rock ‘n Roll Dallas Half Marathon
I’m totally checking out that camera. Second fastest half marathon time right there. I have something to smile about! Plus it’s clearly not hot for once!

Okay I had to add this one since I’m kind of just a little bit famous. Esprit de She picked my picture to be on the Congrats e-mail that was sent out to all the participants post race. I’m kind of a big deal. I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. But seriously, I was so excited.

So there you have it. I like to smile for the camera as you can see. I’ve had my fair share of bad pics too. Take a look…

Top Left: Up close and personal
Top Right: Side Stitch…ugh I remember that pain!
Bottom Left: Pouting because it’s so humid
Bottom Right: Pissed at San Antonio for being so hot

Now go gather all your awesome race pics and link up with the girls!

Would you seek out the cameras in a race or just ignore them?
What’s your favorite race pic?

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
