Allergy Testing Results

And yet again, we’ve made it to another Friday! Despite our doubts come Monday, Friday did seem to makes its way back into our lives. Now if only we had Fridays off too…I’m just dreaming 🙂

Well y’all, the last two days were the dreaded allergy testing days! {Okay, it really wasn’t that bad, but I’m a bit of a pansy when it comes to pain and being poked and prodded.} The results are in! Now before I get down to dirty details of what could possible be making my tummy crawl I have a few deets to add.

You know that you did the right thing with going through with allergy testing when…

1. Your doctor tells you that they’re surprised you hadn’t done it sooner.
2. You find out your allergic to pretty much everything under the sun. I’m talking 6 types of grass, several different trees, 4 different molds, a ton of weeds, shrubs and dust mites.
3.Your doctor recommends allergy shots. 6 months of them. Twice a week for 2 months, then once a week for the remaining months. That’s a lot of shots. Oh and I have to get to administer them myself. EEEP!

I’ll bet you noticed that pretty much everything in those 3 notes above have nothing to do with food. Apparently, my indoor/outdoor allergies were just THAT bad! And you read correctly, I have to GIVE myself a shot. Not get a shot. Not have someone else give me a shot. But I, me, Amy have to inject allergens into myself in order to get better. That’s a lot of pressure if you ask me. I did it for the first time yesterday while the nurse watched. She said I did a good job, so I’ll take it.

Now on to the food. I have quite the interesting list of foods that I tested positive for. This doesn’t mean I’m allergic to the necessarily. It could just mean that I have sensitive skin {which I do} and I just reacted for no good reason. That being said, I have to eliminate all foods where I tested positive for 2 months. Then I get to add them back in: one food, every 2 weeks. Should be interesting. Here are the foods:

  • Oat
  • Barley
  • Rice
  • Egg
  • Beef
  • Cabbage
  • Onion
  • Pecan
  • Walnut
  • Mustard
NO FUN!!! I love oats and rice and eggs and mustard. So the journey begins…let’s hope I’m not actually allergic to all of these! I guess we’ll see…
Sorry to bore y’all with this info today, but it is the easiest way to get it all out there to my friends and family that have been wondering for the past few days!

Hope everyone has a wonderful and fun Father’s Day weekend! I’m off to Schlitterbahn tomorrow with mine AND the hubs families! So so excited to spend Father’s Day with both of my dads!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Sharing is caring!
