Deck the Halls

Tuesday is kind of like Wednesday this week right? We’re already halfway there! I do believe that we should have more 3 day weeks and 4 day weekends. I am completely okay with this set up! Now, I know that Thanksgiving is only 2 days away which means only 3 days until it is socially acceptable to start decorating for Christmas!!! Seeing as though I don’t follow the norm this year and I have a limited time left in my home for Christmas decor {read this post for more info}, I have already Decked the Halls of the Gougler household! I didn’t go crazy on decor this year since we’re in a transitional period. That just means next year, I’m going ALLLL out! PS, Don’t judge me, I deserve to decorate early since it all has to come down by December 15th!

Here are some shots around the house!

Name Block How To

The name block stocking holders and “The Gouglers” sign from yesterday’s post I made last year. This was an idea I got from my very creative momma! It’s super easy and a great gift to give friends or party hosts during the Holiday season.

All you need are Alphabet blocks which you can find in the Toy section at most stores {or there are some in the dollar section at Target right now!}; ornaments for miniature Christmas trees found at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Target, etc.; other small Christmas-y decorations; possibly paint pens; and a hot glue gun!

Start by gluing together your blocks to spell out the desired name. Sometimes, you’ll get several letters beside each other in the same color, use the paint pens to carefully color over the letters and the border. {The green “M” in “AMY” above was originally blue!} Once the glue has dried and your letters are the desired colors, arrange your mini ornaments and decorations on top of the blocks {as seen in yesterday’s post or in the first picture above}. Once you know where each part will go, hot glue them in place. And TA-DAAA! You have an awesome new Christmas decoration to live in your home or to give as a gift! Super fun, easy and unique!

Now drum roll please… here are the pictures of our Christmas tree!
NOTE: We waited until Sunday to decorate our tree. We’re leaving tomorrow for Houston and won’t be back until December 5th leaving only 10 days after that with our tree {hence it’s early arrival}.

The lights are on and of course Maggie wanted to be in the way in the picture.

My handsome hubby cooperating and posing for the camera. Sunday was a jammies/Packers football day 🙂

All done and beautiful! I can’t wait to get a bigger/real tree next year in our OWN HOME!

Family pic – Maggie is not cooperating laying on the ground.

Fun shot from the ground up!

I hope y’all are having a lovey Tuesday! I’m looking forward to all of the holiday/Houston/house hunting posts to come over the next 2 weeks. It’s already an exciting time of year and now I have even more to stress over be excited about! Have a wonderful rest of the day, 5pm Wednesday will be here before we know it!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
