Pink or Blue, What Will It Be?

We’re expecting Baby number 3! You read that right. This November the Gougler’s will officially be playing zone defense and we will no longer have even teams! This is our official baby number 3 pregnancy announcement!

Now if you’re anything like me, you’re feeling a bit nosy and wanting to know how we found out and told people. Lucky for you, I’m an open book and love sharing the details. Plus I’ll get to look back on this with fond memories just like I do with Chloe and Brody’s announcements!

Finding out we were pregnant

Everyone is probably wondering (but not willing to ask out right), “Oh, is this a quarantine baby?” The short answer is no. This baby was just as planned and prayed for as our other two. We started trying before the scare of COVID-19 was a real thing.

The night before I tested, I actually had a dream that I took a test and the two lines both popped up very quickly. When I woke up, I knew I had to test that day. Over the weekend I noticed myself slightly out of breath and that my heart rate was a little elevated. With those two signs and the dream, I decided to test the day before my missed period.

Needless to say, the two lines popped up quite quickly just like they did in my dream. And like any woman who has just taken a positive pregnancy test, I took a couple more just to be sure. Once I had the proof in front of me, I had to figure out how to tell JP!

Telling my husband we’re pregnant

Since I found out we were pregnant shortly after social distancing started and right before the stay home lock down, JP was working from home. I had to keep my mouth shut until I could find a sweet way to tell him. Luckily, he was actually on calls all morning for work, so I didn’t see him most of the morning! I even went on a 4 mile run with the kids to decide on the best way to do it.

Fun fact, Chloe was the first person that I told I was pregnant. I took her outside in our backyard and filmed while I told her to get her reaction. It was the sweetest! She’s so excited and desperately wants a baby sister. I’ll be sure to post the video on my Instagram soon.

Once I told Chloe, I asked her to draw a picture of our family to tell Daddy that I’m pregnant. The end result is the beautiful image you see above. Yes, that is a baby in my “tummy”/ in between my legs. It’s currently hanging on my fridge and will be something I cherish forever!

Telling my family we’re pregnant

Baby number 3 lemonade stand announcement!

The day that we found out we were pregnant is the day before we were told about the stay at home order. Since I’m a very open person and wanted to tell our family right away, we set up a fun way to get my sister and parents over before the order went into effect. Let’s be real, I was dying to share our baby number 3 announcement!

Chloe colored this lemonade stand during our first week of social distancing. She wanted to set it up outside so badly but couldn’t, so I asked my parents, sister and friend Meena to come to her indoor lemonade stand. I made this cute sign (which scroll to the end and you can get one too), Chloe and I whipped up some pink and blue lemonade and some pretzel treats!

Unfortunately this lemonade stand is no longer sold, but you can check out this similar one from Oriental Trading! I also found several other color your own items like a pirate ship, house, spaceship and more if you’re looking for something fun for your little ones! This lemonade stand has brought us countless hours of fun!

Back to the story…

My sister got off work first and came straight over to our house. She was so excited to play lemonade stand with Chloe (Emily and Chloe are the best of friends) that she never once read the sign! After about 5 minutes, Chloe said to her, “Ummmm…read the sign, Emmy.” Which then prompted the freakout reaction that I was anticipating. She stayed for a few minutes then went home to get her husband and son to come visit our stand. Her husband Matt and our friend Meena were the only people to catch the sign unprompted!

An hour later, my parents came over and it took Chloe telling them to read the sign to figure it out as well! I think my mom would have noticed quickly, but as they arrived, Chloe said, “Poppa, would you like to go first.” So my mom backed up when she got the boot! I have everyone’s reactions on video and can’t wait to put them all together to share soon.

Baby number 3 annoucement!

Later that evening, we FaceTimed with our other family members sharing Chloe’s lemonade stand! Those on the phone were actually able to catch on much more quickly. I think the family coming to our house just really wanted to make Chloe’s lemonade stand feel like a success to her, so they never read past the Pink or Blue part of the sign!

The best baby reveal yet.

This is the 3rd time we’ve told our family that we’re expecting, and I feel like it’s been the best yet! Involving Chloe so much in this pregnancy is so fun. She’s been asking for another baby for the past 4 or 5 months, and we can’t wait to see her interact with this baby when he or she arrives.

Baby G3, we’re ready for you!

During my pregnancies with Chloe and Brody, I did biweekly bumpdates. I plan to keep up with these over the next 7 months. I love looking back at my pregnancies and growing belly.

So stay tuned for all things baby! Just kidding, I’ll still be posting about other motherhood topics, fitness and travel. There will just be a little more about pregnancy, baby and breastfeeding again! I can’t wait to share this journey with y’all.

Just for fun, you can see our pregnancy announcements for Chloe and Brody too! Our search through my Pregnancy Category to see my first two journeys.
