A Pre-Birthday Celebration!

Oh my goodness y’all, it’s already Monday. I feel like my last week and weekend were a complete whirlwind. Things have been pretty crazy around here. In case you didn’t see the one and only short post I put up last week, I was at VBS! I was the Bible Discovery Room co-leader with my friend Chelsea. It was a blast, but totally and completely exhausting. {I forgot what it was like to work full time and come home to my baby girl. You working mommas seriously are rockstars!}

Aside from being busy with VBS and every day life, we’ve been busy preparing for our baby girl’s 2nd birthday! I can’t believe that She’s going to be 2 in just five days. That’s it. On Saturday, I’ll no longer have a one year old, I’ll have a full fledged TWO year old! It’s crazy.

This Saturday we had a pre-birthday celebration with her grandparents, great grandmother, great auntie/uncles and cousins on JP’s side! JP’s parents and aunt and uncle are going on an Alaskan cruise and they actually leave today! Since they won’t be here for her birthday this coming weekend, we thought it would be fun to have a family party. This way everyone would get much more time with the birthday princess.

She was totally spoiled rotten! I think the toy store just came straight to our house. Despite the attitude on her face in the picture below, I promise she had a great time opening her presents. She actually made us open up the toys as she opened the presents!

She got an easel with all the art supplies she could possible want, a Melissa and Doug cake cutting set and steep & sip tea set, adorable clothes, books and sunglasses, magnets, animals and more! She’s kind of obsessed with all of them. It’s really fun to watch her play with her new toys. I haven’t really gotten her anything new the past couple of months besides her goodies from Disneyland since her birthday is coming up. I forgot how fascinating new toys are and how fixated she gets with them!

I made her a fun little cake and I’m already ready to make it again. It was a simple funfetti cake from a box split into two nine inch round pans. Then I put a layer of whipped cream and sliced strawberries in the middle and iced the top layer with chocolate frosting. Naturally I topped it with sprinkles! It turned out to be delicious!

Remember that Melissa and Doug steep and sip tea set I mentioned she received? Take a look at just how cute it is…

Y’all it had little tea bags that you can put into the tea cups and even a little sheet that tells you how to make tea! I mean my girl has been to London after all. Now she’ll be ready when she goes back some day!

Most of the other pictures were taken on everyone else’s phones and cameras. I was so busy getting lunch situated and helping her open presents that taking pictures got pushed to the wayside. But I know there are some cute ones with our family members in them! It was a wonderful celebration and I’m so thankful we have so many people in our lives that love our girl so much!

Since it’s Chloe’s birth week, it’ll be all about Chloe here! Stay tuned…

On a totally unrelated note before I go, anyone watch Game of Thrones last night? I won’t give away any spoilers, but oh my goodness. My two thoughts. (1) Littlefinger may be one of the rapiest characters. He totally creeps me out. (2) The ending scenes totally had me all WTF? Am I right?

Happy Monday y’all!
