Long Laborless Weekend

Sometimes Wednesdays are for recapping your super awesome really long weekend 🙂

Friday and Saturday were spent in College Station!!! It involved running 10 miles in nasty heat, Blue Baker, tent sale shopping {discount A&M gear for my non-Aggies out there!}, Coco Loco, tailgating with the best friends ever and watching the Ags win the first game of the season. Well half of the game that is. The half that Johnny Football did not play. Why you ask? We had to get to Houston for a wedding!!!

Middle Right: Super cute sign at one of the Aggie shops! I want!
Bottom Right: Welcome to Kyle Field. Home of the 12th Man.
Yup, I have the best friends. The Disney Ultimate Sing Along Tailgate. At least, that’s what the girls like to call us 🙂
After a quick shower at the Gougler’s, we were headed home to get ready for the Lambert-Monk wedding! I went to high school with Chris and then we were both at A&M together, so we go way back. Christ and Caryn are currently living in New York City, so it was wonderful to see them again along with all of my other besties from high school!

Hello wedding cake…and cupcakes!!!

It was time for an updated picture of me and my Dutka twins 🙂 Love them! Here’s a flashback to summer 2006…
Yup, 7 years ago. We were such babies!!! Oh wait, I look the same.
Sunday was a recovery day. Tailgating, football gaming and a wedding receptioning all in one day is completely exhausting! We lounged, watching movies and I taught step. Super exciting, I know.
Monday morning we woke up and ran the Alaina Dixon 5 Miler! Guess what, none of us wanted to run it, but we did it anyway. The problem is that the weather was identical to our 10 mile run weather on Friday. It sucked and we were not looking forward to the humidity. Neither was my stomach. About two miles in, I found my rhythm and managed to pull through with a 42:13 official time and I was 9th in my age group out of 42!
The rest of the day was spent with my family and friends in my parents pool in Sugar Land!
Bam. Still pulled through!
Love so much that my hubby runs with me!
Wouldn’t make it through half of my long runs without Chandra! Best running buddy {and friend} EVER!

I love long weekends, but I love long weekends spent with my favorite people in the world even more. I’m a lucky girl.

Happy Hump Day my loves!
