Gulf Shores, Alabama

I’m not quite sure how I managed to do it, but I’ve gotten my pictures all ready to share with y’all today! So without further ado, I will share with y’all Gulf Shores – lots and lots of pictures, beware!

We left for GS at the crack of dawn last Wednesday, August 8th. There were a total of 13 people and one baby going on the trip and JP & 1 carpooled with Philip and Alison! We met up with some of the others in Lake Charles where they had been gambling {they left Houston an hour and a half before us even!}, and then the whole crew caravaned the rest of the way!

Our house! Isn’t it so stinkin’ cute!?

The rest of Day 1 was spent doing the following:

  • Grocery Store trip – the girls got all the food we needed for the trip!
  • Burgers & Hot Dogs
  • Drinking Games
Despite weather.com, Day 2 turned out to be pretty nice. It kind of rained on and off, but we were still able to get plenty of beach time!

After a while at the beach, the rain decided to stick around for a bit longer than we liked. The rest of the evening consisted of:

  • Going to the movies to see Batman
  • Watching the Olympics
  • Drinking
  • Shrimp Scampi for dinner
  • Drinking games

These were our poses for when our teams won. I am clearly being Clay Matthews…no big.

Day 3’s weather was absolutely PERFECT! We spent so much time out at the beach playing beach soccer, body surfing in the huge waves, having a few drinks and an all around fantastic time!

After the beach everyone got all cleaned up for dinner!

  • Dinner at Tacky Jacks
  • More drinking and games
  • More Olympic watching!

Our 4th Day in Gulf Shores was pretty gloomy. I woke up early to go for a beach run and oh my was it challenging – wind, rain and sand. I still managed to keep about a 10 minute per mile pace and went 4 miles! Because of the rain, we were forced to stay inside for quite some time that morning. We made breakfast tacos and watched the Olympics to pass the time. Around noon, we decided to head to the beach even though the sun wasn’t really shining.

James is the clear winner with this rockin’ photo finish 🙂

After racing, walking and reading on the beach we:

  • Played lots of washers and dominoes
  • Fajitas & Guacamole
  • More Olympics
  • More flip cup, beer pong and drinking with friends on our last night!

McKayla Maroney was not impressed with the boy’s flip cup skills.

No words needed.

Day 5 turned out to be gorgeous. Luckily our group didn’t have to leave until a bit later, so we were able to enjoy one last long walk on the beach. I really just wanted to stay out there all day and not leave!

Please ignore the fact that my a$$ looks huge in this picture #awkwardangle

And then we had to make the long trip home. No fun. I didn’t want to leave and go back to reality. I love the beach and I could just stay there forever! I like to think our trip was pretty much summed up with beach time, drinking, watching the Olympics, eating, walking on the beach, cooking dinner, playing games, drinking, spending time with the best group of friends ever. It’s safe to say that we are all incredibly blessed to have one another and to have stayed this close after graduating from college, starting jobs, getting married and having babies! Here’s to many, many more years of friendships and more awesome vacations to come!

Happy Tuesday y’all!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Sharing is caring!
