The Big D

In case you didn’t get it from my various posts from last week about going to see my girl Kristin for her birthday, I was in Dallas this weekend 🙂 A what a fun weekend it was! I wasn’t the best blogger and only took a few pictures on my phone…ooops!
The weekend started on Friday. I ended up working from home which was convenient because I was able to make Kristin’s birthday brownies! If you can’t tell…I L.O.V.E. sprinkles. I believe they make everything better 🙂

Around 4, I wrapped up work and the hubs and I were on our way! Of course we had to make a pit stop at my favorite place…Bucee’s. I truly believe that Bucee’s makes every road trip better. Those of you who haven’t been to Bucee’s need to come to Texas!

We arrived Friday evening around 8ish and had a nice relaxing evening with Kristin and her family. We called it an early night after a long week to rest up for Saturday!
Saturday we went to Top Golf! We hadn’t been before and were super excited to try it out. They’re building one not too far away from us in Houston and I can’t wait {H-Town Blogger Hotties future meeting? Seriously girls, it would be a blast!}

Top Golf is essentially a driving range but they have huge circles in the ground {as you can see} that tracks how far your ball traveled if you get it in! Since it’s a game, you place against the others your with and the more you make it in the different circles, the more points you get. You don’t even have to be good/know how to play in order to enjoy it.
After Top Golf we were famished, so for lunch we went to Twisted Root! It was on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri!

I had the black bean burger…as you can see…it was HUGE! Very tasty and very big. I also shared some sweet potato chips with the hubs.
We spend the remainder of the afternoon hanging out with Kristin’s little nephew who was in town visiting for the week. We had a blast on their Polaris and just playing outside. After dinner {delish homemade chicken enchiladas via Kristin’s amazing momma!}, it was time to get ready and head out to celebrate! Kristin thought it would be fun to try something new, so we planned on going to Gilly’s. Well that didn’t work because it was rented out, so we headed out to Cowboys for a night of country music and two-steppin’! My fave 🙂

As you can see, we danced the night away! Here we are actually doing the Wobble. There was definitely more two-stepping than wobbling going on though 🙂 We danced and danced and closed the bar down!
We got a bit of a late start to Sunday morning after not going to bed until 3am. Of course, a late start to me is 9:30am, so even though the hubs and I took off a little after noon, we still had some time to hang out in the morning. On our way back to Houston we stopped at Collin Street Bakery! The had the best breads and treats. I refrained from the treats {since Kristin’s mom made us Peach Cobbler for a pre-lunch dessert!}, but had a turkey sandwich on fresh sourdough!

All in all it was a fun weekend. So glad I could spend the time with people so dear to me that I have known for over half of my life. I’m a lucky girl!
I know my Monday posts are usually about fitness, but I’m clearly switching it up with week. I have an awesome post about running tips and tricks tomorrow and I hope you come back for it!
Today I’m linking up here and here!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
