Here’s to a new year…

…and another chance to get it right! Thank you Oprah for this oh so true quote. Before I hit y’all with all my super fun NYE pics, you’ve probably noticed my new background. I’m going to be messing with the look and feel of the blog over the next few weeks. I’m hoping for a fresh and clean look for the new year! Now, onto what you care more about, NYE pics and recap!

This year, we spend NYE in H-town. We started off the morning bring and early to head downtown to Reliant Stadium for the Meineke Car Care Bowl since A&M was playing. My dad gave JP two tickets in the club level for Christmas, and lucky for me, JP picked me to be his date!

I think the best part of the game is that the Aggies actually won. We haven’t won our bowl game in several years, so it was a great end to a rough season!

After the game, we headed out to Copperfield (North Houston) for our NYE festivities at Ashley and Tyler’s house! We all decided that we would prefer a night in with close friends as opposed to mass amounts of people, lines and having to find a way home. This way we could stay up as late {or go to bed as early} as we would like, not have to worry about driving or catching a cab {it’s the other drunkies out there to be worried about} and we could pour our own bubbly without waiting in long lines! It was a great decision. Ashley made some amazing chicken, shrimp and sausage jambalaya for dinner, then we got all dolled up for our party. Just because you stay in doesn’t mean you can’t get dressed up!!!

We had a great time playing games and poppin’ bottles just like we were in college again!

Playing Quelf! Super fun game that I hadn’t heard of until NYE!

Me attempting to play washers with Blake watching. My husband is an all star, me not so much.

And then I couldn’t forget to capture the New Year’s first kiss with my one true love!

All in all, New Year’s Eve was a blast! We were able to spend it with some of our closest friends that we barely got to see this past year {compared to previous years}! We’re thankful to be back in Texas and excited that not only do Ashley and Tyler live in Houston, but Alison and Philip are moving here from Dallas next month!!! Looking forward to all of our shenanigans in 2012!

Before I go, I wanted to say THANKS so so much to all my readers! I have officially hit 50 followers and I love that each and every one of you take the time to read my ramblings. January 16th bog-iversary is quickly approaching along with my first give away! Stay tuned 🙂

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
