First Trimester Bumpdate!

It’s officially time to start sharing bumpdates again! I shared these when I was pregnant with Chloe and it was a fun way for friends, family and even complete strangers to follow along on our journey. More importantly, it was a way for me to look back on my pregnancy and remember just how I felt throughout the 40 weeks.

I’m not sure if I’ll share these every week or every other week. It kind of just depends on how I’m feeling and how much information I have to share. Today I’m going to answer these questions this week like I’m 14 weeks along so I can look back and remember how I felt at the end of the 1st trimester. Going forward, I’ll answer as of that week! So for the record, tomorrow I’ll actually be 16 weeks!

Fun Fact:
Baby’s second picture is the first one in the post above! I actually had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks because of some spotting and was measuring only 6 weeks 1 day. I went back to check the baby’s growth a week later at 8 weeks and he measured 7 weeks 5 days. By my 12 week ultrasound he was measuring right on track!

How Far Along?
14 weeks as of February 22nd
Size of Baby:
A lemon or a troll doll! I think a troll doll is so relatable.
Weight Gain:
About 2 pounds.
I lost between 2-3 pounds in December/January and began to put them back on in February when my appetite picked back up.
Maternity Clothes:
I got a cute pair of maternity shorts with the stretchy side panel from Target just before my Disney trip. I brought them along and I’m so glad I did! They were so comfortable that I wore them most days at the parks. {See 14 week photo below!} Those are the only true maternity clothes I’m wearing right now though.
Stretch marks:
None
Symptoms:
Every morning I’m nauseous for about 15 minutes. It sucks, but I can push through. I had a lot of nausea from Christmas to mid January and then it went away. Other than that, I’m HUNGRY and tired. I don’t remember being this tired when I was pregnant with Chloe. Naps and lounging on the couch are my friend in the afternoons. I’m slowly starting to get my energy back thank goodness.
Cravings:
Salty snacks like pretzels, Goldfish and trail mix, Hot Tamales candy, TACOS!, and anything and everything with Buffalo sauce…wings, sliders, dips, you name it.
Gender:
It’s a BOY!
Read about how we found out here.
Mood:
Beyond excited and sleepy. Is sleepy a mood? I think it is.
Nursery:
HA. We have a room and it’s already painted a beautiful soft mint green as you can see in my bump pictures. Other than that, we have all of Chloe’s old baby stuff in there waiting to be put in place or in use. We’re still trying to decide if we’re going to get a new crib or if Chloe is going to get a big girl bed. We have a few months to figure that out at least!
Movement:
I’ve felt him flutter just a couple of times. Much earlier than I did with Chloe!
Sleep:
Fantastic! I’m so tired that I’m out cold every night. I’m pretty much in bed around 9:00pm every night and it’s amazing. I’m getting up once or twice to pee, but I fall right back to sleep.
Workouts:
Same old same old! I continued going to adult gymnastics through my first trimester. I plan to continue going, but focusing more on flexibility and strength. I still teach both of my classes on Monday, but I modify some of my high intensity exercises in Tabata class. I also ran a 5K, 10K and half marathon at Disney at 14 weeks 1, 2, & 3 days pregnant! I plan to continue running as long as possible, but I’ll likely switch to walking only at some point in May when the temps get too warm and humid in Houston. I also plan to post some of my pregnancy workouts on these bump dates to help other women wanting to workout during pregnancy! You can do it!
What I Miss:
Wine. Every once in a while I just want a delicious glass of wine. Not too often, but every now and then. I’ve also thought about sushi lately, so I may need to get some cooked rolls to satisfy that for now.
Belly Button in or out?
Oddly enough it’s already starting to push its way out. It’s still in, but it’s trying!
Wedding rings on or off?
On
Labor Signs:
Nope and hopefully not for quite a while.
Anything making you queasy or sick:
The first trimester meat was such a turn off. I couldn’t cook during the month of January because raw meat literally had me gagging. I also couldn’t drink coffee from week 5-12 which was so sad. I’m back on it now though. For a few weeks veggies also sounded horrible, but I’ve managed to get back on board with those!
Best Moments The Past few Weeks:
Finding out the gender of our BABY BOY!
Sharing the news publicly
Going to Disney World
Completing the Fairytale Challenge while pregnant!

Looking forward to:
Our anatomy scan on April 5th and our Babymoon in April. Details on that coming soon!
There you have it, Baby Boy’s very first bumpdate! I’ll definitely be back next week with my 17 week bumpdate to share my feelings from weeks 15-17. I hope y’all enjoy following along as much as I enjoy writing these! Happy Hump Day Bump Day y’all!
