5 Friday F’s

1. Fashion

Emerald Green is the Pantone color of the year. Lucky for me that my girl Andrea has totally turned me onto the color green over the past year by not-so-subtly giving me awesome clothes in the color emerald! {Seriously, for my birthday she got me an amazing emerald green button up.} Here’s an emerald inspired outfit for the new year!

2. Freak Outs

I’ve had a few of these this week. Of course, they’re all related to my upcoming marathon. {Did you really think you’d get a post this week that didn’t mention it?} I’ve had some phantom pains in my right arm…random right? I’ve had a lot of butterflies. I pretty much want to go for a run every night when I get home, but I know it’s best not to. I’ve been drinking so much water and I’m starting to feel like a water balloon. I know I’ll love myself for it when Sunday morning rolls around. I’ve also been freaking out about the nasty weather. Cold, rainy and {the worse part} windy. Not the best combination for distance running, but I plan to make the best of it. I can’t control the weather, but I can control my attitude. So no more freak outs for this girl!

3. Favorites

A few old and new faves that I’ve come across this week…

  • The Biggest Loser: I’ve always been obsessed with TBL. I love the show and how it changes people’s lives. I get emotional with them. I root for them. I want them to succeed. It also keeps me motivated. Even when I DVR it, you better believe I’m not sitting through the commercials. Insert sit ups, push ups, lunges and jumping jacks for this girl! I have a hard time sitting there watching the contestants work out. However, by the end of the episode, I probably have a bowl of ice cream in my lap 🙂
  • Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk: I just decided to try adding almond milk to my latte when I was at Whole Foods. I love almond milk, so why not? It was an excellent decision. Go try it.
  • My Kitchen: I’m going to do a before and after post next week. My kitchen is finally complete 1 year later. I’m obsessed.
  • Brussel Sprouts: I’ve loved brussel sprouts since I was a toddler, but I haven’t cooked them recently – mostly since the hubs does NOT like them. He’s working nights and I cooked them twice this week. My tummy is happy and I need to go buy some more!

4. Funny

I love my little girl. She always cracks me up and I love when I can catch it on camera 🙂

Such a spoiled brat…always wanting her belly rubbed!
Old picture, but one of my favorites. She does this all the time 🙂 She kind of looks like Stitch from Lilo and Stitch!

5. Finally my First

The day I’ve been training up for is finally almost here. In just 48 hours I will be a little over half way done with my first marathon. I’ve trained for 5 1/2 months, logged about 365 miles, run 22 miles at once, made amazing friends and found new things about myself along the way. This may be one of the craziest goals I’ve ever set for myself, but I know it will yield amazing results. When I cross the finish line Sunday morning, I will probably cry. Cry for sheer joy that I no longer have to continue running and cry because I am so proud. When I cross the finish line, it will be one of the proudest moments of my life. I can’t wait.

As of this morning around 9:30am

Happy Friday y’all!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Sharing is caring!
