Happy Hump Day Halloween!

Happy Halloween y’all!

Remember how I went to go hang out with my momma yesterday? It was amazing! All we did was run some errands, lounge around, watch reruns of America’s Next Top Model, chit chat and VOTE!

Oh and after the rest of the family got home we carved the pumpkin!!! I’ll go ahead and admit that it was Emily’s design we decided to go ahead with. He’s puking…it’s kind of funny…not going to lie 🙂

My sister and I love our family traditions. Carving pumpkins for Halloween, Thanksgiving dinner in the dining room, hot chocolate & hot tub on Christmas Eve and opening presents first thing in the morning Christmas Day…just to name a few. I think Emily and I have become the upholder of family traditions.

So do y’all have exciting plans this Hump Day Halloween?
My baby sis is coming over to the Gougler household and we’re going to make some of this…
…but it’s my own recipe so I’ll hopefully share soon!
We’re also going to attempt to make this…

…watch some of this…
…drink some of this…

…or some sort of Oktoberfest beer. Probably Saint Arnold’s. I won’t be drinking it, but Emily and JP will be 🙂
I’m also crossing my fingers that I have at least of few of these come to my door!

I hope that everyone has a super fun, happy and safe Halloween!

The end of a chapter…

For those of you who don’t know, I love to read. I’m the best at tuning out everything in the world around me to immerse myself in a good book. Writers often end each chapter with a cliffhanger. Something to make you keep reading and yearn to find out what’s next. They also make the end of each chapter a place to stop and think about what you’ve read before you move on. I’m thrilled to say that yesterday was the end of a chapter for me.

The past 3 1/2 years I have worked for a great company called Logica. I loved my job. I was good at it, I worked with a great team and I felt like I was contributing my part. Unfortunately, in August, Logica was acquired by CGI. Logica was a 41,000 person UK company bought out by a 31,000 Canadian firm. You do the math, that makes one big company and a huge transition. Let’s just say the transition didn’t go so well. I was left floating around for a month. I was pretty much told that I wouldn’t have a job and to just “sit tight”. Not so easy if you ask me. I began looking around, but not to eagerly since I had no clue what was going on.

Fast forward to the end of September. After a few internal interviews, I actually landed a position within CGI. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the position I was looking for. I knew that I could do more than what was offered to me and it just wasn’t fun. Luckily, I had some leads since I had started looking around in August. I continued on with some of my interviews and was finally offered a position with Sirius Solutions. I was elated. I was getting a new job, a raise and more vacation days. It’s a win – win all around if you ask me! My office is also closer to my house. This girl doesn’t even have to get on a highway to get to work anymore!

Yesterday was my last day with Logica/CGI. Thursday is my first day at my new job! New month, new job, new changes in life! You know what that means??? I get today and tomorrow off to get my sh*t together and relax. I need some relaxation in my life!

Remember these posts about stress and anxiety? The transition from Logica to CGI really messed me up. I was stressed out to the max and just didn’t know what to do. I am so thankful that all of that is past me. I hate being a Debbie Downer. I’m beyond excited to venture into this new chapter in my life. I know this may not have been the big change some of y’all expect from my post yesterday. I hate to disappoint, but I’m still not pregnant. Give me a few more years and we’ll talk about that. For now, big career changes are what’s coming my way and I can’t wait!

Now I’m off to go spend a little quality time with my momma! It doesn’t get much better than this!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Big Things…

Alight y’all, today’s post is going to be short and sweet. Big things are coming my way and I have a lot  to share with y’all! This weekend was a blast, but I haven’t got the time to upload pictures, so a few from my iPhone will have to do for today!
About to head out to Evan and Taylor’s wedding in Anderson, TX! Please ignore the weird look on my face and check out my pretty dress and shoes instead! This dress was actually my bridesmaid dress in Alison & Philip’s wedding and the shoes were my MOH shoe’s in Nikki & Cliff’s wedding!
Sunday was the laziest day I’ve had in pretty much forever. It was fantastic. After running Saturday morning, followed by driving to College Station and then a super fun wedding, I needed a rest day. Oh boy did I get it. We went to brunch at Ozona’s around 10:30am and proceeded to go back to the in laws, put on our PJs and sleep until 2:30. Then JP’s parents came home and the pups played all afternoon!
Here’s today’s arm candy thanks to my girl Sammy! I won her fall faves giveaway and this beautiful watch and bracelet are just some of the goodies she gave me!
Last but not least, my morning cup of joe. I saw these in the Target dollar section a few weeks ago and decided to bust one out today. It’s seriously just too cute.
So random? Yes. Thrown together at the last minute? Yes. Sorry y’all, it doesn’t mean I love you less. It just means that today is a big day and tomorrow will come with some awesome news! I cant’ wait to spill the beans! Until then, y’all have a rockin’ Monday 🙂
Until next time…
With love and God bless,

With love and God bless,

You know you’re training for a marathon when…

…you run the distance of a half marathon on a random Saturday by yourself without the spectators or medal & goodies at the end.

…you plan your Friday night activities around your Saturday morning long runs.

…your weekly workouts look something like this…

Last Week’s Workouts
Friday: 2 mile hilly power walk
Saturday: 13.1 mile run {8:55 pace}
Sunday: OFF – I walked around the airport a bunch though! {I have an issue with sitting still for long periods of time.}
Monday: 4 mile run {8:48 pace}
Tuesday: 2 mile walk with pup & 1 hr 15 min yoga class
Wednesday: 5 mile run {8:35 pace}
Thursday: Hills practice tonight! About 4-5 miles!

…you start taking yoga so your hamstrings and hip flexors don’t kill you!

…your week night activities revolve around what your running club is doing. Tuesdays: Track – Thursdays: Hills!

…you’re counting down to what most people would see as an arbitrary day in January. 80 days…in case you’re wondering!

…you plan on running 40 miles total on the week of Christmas. 22 miles will be run at once. For fun. Guess who’s not feeling guilty eating Christmas goodies this year?

…you’re used to going to breakfast drenched in sweat and salt.

Source: thehunt.com via Amy on Pinterest

…you do laundry more often just so you can replenish your diminishing stock of workout clothes.

…running more than 10 miles on a Saturday becomes the norm.

…you occasionally have nightmares about not being prepared for the race. I suspect more to come as race time approaches!

So there you have it! What do you think…ready to train for a marathon? I am! Oh wait…already working on it…and oddly loving it! Ready for tonight’s hill practice and this weekend’s 14 miler with the group. It’s amazing how many great friends you can make through running. The best part is that not only do we have something in common, but it happens to be something that betters us! After my week away from Houston, I’ve been running solo for a while and I can’t wait to run with my friends {and hubby} tonight! I’ll go ahead and give my hubs a pat on the back since he’s training for the half which will be his second. I convinced him to run in Philly with me for my birthday last year 🙂

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

LoVe = 100,000 + 260

It’s been too long since I’ve shared everything I’m loving lately!

I’m loving that as of last night I reached 100,000 page views and 260 followers! I know it’s not much and that so many of you have many more followers and views, but this truly means so much to me! It may be a small corner of the world wide web, but it’s mine and y’all keep me going!

I’m loving ALL of my followers, friends and family that keep up with my blog. Y’all have no idea how much this means to me. Y’all are the best for listening to my thoughts and rambles! So much love!!! I’m going to have a super fun giveaway when I reach 300 so stick around!

I’m loving my blog 🙂 This blog is an outlet for me. A place to journal my thoughts, feelings, ideas and dreams. It is a journal of my life so I can look back and remember how blessed I am and share it with my future children.

I’m loving some of my recent outfits! I’m ready to wear more like my one of the left! Come on fall weather! I got a nice taste of it in Knoxville!

I’m loving that all the crazy changes that have been going on in my life are finally starting to come together.

I’m loving yoga practice. I finally got back into it and I’m already feeling the difference!

I’m {still} loving my running! This morning I took off for a 5 miler and felt amazing. I love how it allows me to release my stress, live in my thoughts and just sweat it out!

I’m loving that I have exciting news to share with y’all for next week!!!

I’m loving that for tonight’s Wednesday night date night, the hubs and I are going to the zoo! I’m a member of the zoo which is why we’ve been about 3-4 times this year. I just love it. We haven’t been in the evening though so I’m excited!

I’m loving all my Pinterest finds!

Tiny Fingers and Toes

I think my favorite thing about newborns is that everything is tiny. Tiny fingers. Tiny toes. Tiny yawns. Tiny sneezes. Newborns are just tiny people. So weird and so beautiful! As I mentioned last week, Michael Charlie Bryan is the brand new son of my best friend, thus making me an auntie!!!

Obviously I love him to pieces! He’s so teeny tiny! Last time I mentioned little Mr. Charlie, he had literally just been born. Well the morning after his birth, he was taken to the NICU. During labor, Andrea and Charlie both spiked very high fevers that went down quickly. However, the doctors wanted to be safe and do tests to ensure there was no infection. This meant that Charlie had to be in the NICU for at least 48 hours.

Luckily, we got to visit him a lot. We also became close with the NICU nurses and I became a VIP family member and was allowed in even when their visiting hours were closed 🙂

I’m pretty sure I took pictures of him every, single time I saw him. How could I not be in love with his tiny face! By Friday afternoon, little bitty was allow to come back to his momma’s room to await their discharge!

While Andrea was resting and getting some things taken care of, I made sure to spoil Charlie with love. I held him for nearly 3 hours while he slept without putting him down. {I got a good arm workout, 2 of those hours I spent standing and walking around!} We finally got to go home on Friday night around 7:30pm! After being at the hospital since 11:00am on Tuesday, Charlie was about to see his home!

He did a great job sleeping and eating his very first night home! Andrea managed to get some sleep while Seth and I actually got a pretty good night’s sleep…which was very needed. I woke up pretty early on Saturday morning for a little run. As you know from yesterday, it was a bit more than a little run since it was actually the distance of a half marathon. Here’s to marathon training!

Running in Knoxville is great…minus the crazy hills. I mean I was literally going up or down, never level ground for an extended period of time! Despite the hills, it was great because of the weather! Oh how I would kill for less humidity and cooler temps here in Houston! I love running in new cities because the sites keep me occupied. Knoxville hosted the World’s Fair in 1982. While Paris receive the Eiffel Tower from the 1889 World Fair, Knoxville received the Sunsphere as pictured above!

After my run, Andrea and I headed out to brunch for her first post baby mimosa while Charlie hung out with his daddy!

The rest of the day was spent watching lots and lots of football. Charlie loved it. We all spent time passing him around 🙂 He’s already an Aggie fan!

Too bad the Aggie’s lost, but Seth was please that his Bama boys not only won but dominated Tennessee.

Sunday came and it was time for me to head back to the Lone Star State. As much fun as I had, I knew it was time for me to head home to my hubs and pup. I missed them so much! Now I’m missing my Charlie!

I just can’t get enough of him!!! So tiny and perfect and beautiful. I’m totally biased, but don’t care 🙂

Anyone else have a new bundle of joy coming into their life in one way or another? I don’t quite have baby fever yet, but my fear of having a little one has definitely diminished some. For now, I’ll just keep my family of 3…Maggster will continue to be my baby for now…

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Home Sweet Home

This statement couldn’t be more true. After a week away from home, I’m glad to be back. I missed my sweet hubby. I missed my little puppy. I missed my comfy bed. Like I said, I’m glad to be home. But now I miss my Andrea and Charlie. I miss the amazing cool, not humid weather in Knoxville. And I really miss my Andrea and Charlie. Really, really. If only I could have the best of both worlds!

Last week was amazing. I loved being in Tennessee. I loved spending time with my best friend. I loved experiencing Charlie’s birth and holding him and loving him. It was perfect, exhausting, but perfect.

I’m beyond happy to be home and I have a ton of picture to share with y’all. However, I need to get all of them on my computer. Until then, here’s a sneak peak at my weekend!

Clockwise from the top left:
Me and Charlie chillin’ and watching Aggie football! Too bad we lost!
Sunday brunch beer {Anne} and mimosa {me}
Little Charlie leaving the hospital…I’m so in love!
Saturday morning 13 miler…done and done!
Happy Monday y’all! Hope it goes by quickly. I need to get reacquainted with being home and probably get a little bit more rest. It was an adventurous week, but home is where the heart is.

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Football Friday!

Are you ready for some football??? Last weekend was full of football for this girl! Friday, I went with the hubs and my siblings to my high school’s homecoming game! My baby brother is a freshman in high school this year and all four kids were in town, so it seemed like a great opportunity to spend some time with each other!
The best part is that they actually WON! Not going to lie, this was a shock to me. We only won 1 football game when I was a senior in high school cheering on our boys. Now Fort Bend Austin High School is number 1 in the district! Let’s see if they can hold on to it!
Obviously we were at the wedding on Saturday evening, but the Aggies managed to once again pull through for us and add another to the win column against Louisiana Tech!
Sunday morning we drove from Horseshoe Bay back to Houston just in time to be picked up by Dad, Em and Ben to head to Reliant Stadium for the Texans vs. Packers game! It was SO MUCH FUN! Tailgating was a blast and I couldn’t even begin to count the number of people yelled the Rodgers Discount Double Check joke at me. It was all in good sport and there were some pretty clever Texans fans.
JP was a minority amongst my Green Bay Packer brainwashed family! Don’t get me wrong, we love the Texans, but only when they aren’t playing the Packers!

While we were wandering, we found Paige and Katie who were shocked to see us rooting against our hometown team. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do! Y’all can blame Daddy Timmer for raising us as Packers fans. I mean we grew up with Cheeseheads and Packers onsies!

The game itself was a blast. It probably helped that the old Aaron Rodgers came to play and the Packers scored a big win!

By the end of the night, we were hoarse, happy and exhausted! I love my Packers and was so excited to see them play live again this year! Here’s my recap from visiting Lambeau last fall for my birthday!
What’s your favorite NFL football team? Ever have to choose your true favorite between two teams you really love? Oh how I love football. Maybe a little too much. It’s safe to say my hubby doesn’t care!
Now I’m off to go see my little Charlie! He’s such a doll. More pictures and updates to come on him soon!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

A Winery Wedding

Happy Thursday y’all! I’m not going to lie, this week is zooming by. Literally flying by so fast. Busy doesn’t even begin to describe the past week for me! Before I hopped on a plane headed to Knoxville, TN, I had a busy weekend! On Saturday, two dear friends of mine were married at a winery in Horseshoe Bay, TX!
How cute is that sign in table and the Luke & Courtney Wallace sign? I’ve never actually been to a wedding at a winery and I must say that it was a wonderful idea! It made for a unique setting and a gorgeous back drop!

I’ve known Luke since middle school and Courtney since high school, so this was a very important and meaningful wedding for me to be at. It was an intimate setting and crowd which made it an even more special occasion. Luke & Courtney wrote their own vows which completely melted my heart. I’m a total sap and as soon as Courtney started talking, I was a faucet. I was dumb and didn’t bring tissues, so JP’s coat sleeve had to work 🙂

It was a wonderful night with so many great friends, wine, good food, dancing and lots of love.

After an amazing dinner, {I’m not kidding y’all, this was no normal wedding food…it was delicious!} we continued to drink wine and dance our booties off! There was also a photo booth. As soon as I get those photos scanned in, I’ll share the shenanigans with the world!
I love weddings. It makes me even more appreciative of the 2 1/2 years I’ve been married to my amazing husband. I love him and appreciate him every day, but I believe something about the love in the air at weddings makes both of us feel a little sentimental.
To Luke & Courtney, I love you both so much and I feel beyond blessed to share this time with y’all. I wish you both many, many years of happiness. I look forward to watching your love for each other grow over the years. JP and I are so blessed to have y’all as some of our closest friends! We can’t wait to come visit you up in Denver come the new year!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
