Detox Day 1

First things first, today you can find me over at Fun, Fit and Fabulous writing about being Fit and Fabulous for Fall! Okay that’s a lot of F’s in one sentence! Be sure to check it out and look around a bit because Lauren is amazing! We’re actually IRL friends from college and we taught Group Exercise together. This girl really is Fit and Fabulous!

Moving on, today marks Day 1 of my 3 day cleanse. Seeing as though I just got back from Vegas and I leave for Gulf Shore next Wednesday {like way early}, I needed to find a way to rid my body of toxins and get ready to be in a swim suit all week. Enter Kaeng Raeng.

I was first introduced to this cleanse by my friend Alison {who’s actually going to the beach with me!}. She recommended it and after quite a bit of research, I took the dive and ordered it! I went with the 3 Day Beginner package. Your options are 3 Day or 6 Day and then Beginner, Veteran and Master. Seeing as though this is my first go around, beginner was definitely the best option. The good part about this cleanse is that it’s not just a drinks only cleanse – you can eat all the raw fruits and veggies you want! Thank goodness for that because I feel like the act of chewing my food is just as satisfying. So it’s not a strictly liquid diet like a juice cleanse.

I went with the juu juu “into the blue” for my first drink! You add the packet to 24-32 oz of liquid {water, juice, milk, etc.}.

For beginners, they recommend making a smoothie. So that is just what I did. I took the packet above, a large handful of ice, 12 oz water, 12 oz juice, half of a frozen banana and some frozen blue berries! Not too shabby and it’s a lot to drink! Honestly, I think it tastes good! {There is still more in the blender too!}

So here’s to day 1 of my cleanse – may God grant me the power and strength to stick to it. It’s only 3 days right?

What do y’all think about cleanses or detoxes? Yay or Nay? Have you done one before? If so which one? I’ll be sure to let y’all know how it goes!

Vegas recap is still on the way…there are a lot of pictures to go through and edit 🙂 I guess that means I had a good time!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

{This is by no means a sponsored post. These are strictly my opinions based on a product that I chose to try and paid for.}

Vegas – 2 : Amy – 0

Well, for those of you who are wondering, I made it back from Vegas alive. Barely 🙂 After 2 trips to Vegas, I am 0 for 2. I’m not complaining though. I had a blast and Vegas didn’t really steal too much of my money! I’m a little bit sad that I had to wake up and go to work today however. Needless to say, my body hurts. I may or may not have fallen face first down the stairs. But that’s a story for another day. A day that I have a bit more energy. Here is a quick glimpse at how the weekend went down!

Hope y’all have a wonderful Monday! I’m hoping I can make it through 🙂 Many more pictures and a recap to come later this week! Linking up here!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Vegas: Pool – Day – Night

Hi friends! More than likely I’m asleep right now. Or just getting to bed. Depends on how last night went. Let’s hope I’m asleep since it’s only the first night!

Today I’m going against the planned Friday Fancies and I’m showing y’all some of my Vegas attire! Or some similar items nonetheless.

Viva Las Vegas

Pool: If I know my girls, then we will be spending a lot of time at the pool. Don’t worry I’ve packed a zillion bathing suits. A girl can never have too many bathing suits. I have a similar one to the bikini pictured above from Victoria’s Secret – mine has a solid pink bottom! I also have a similar version of the cover up! I love to use simple comfy dresses as cover ups!

Day: For my daytime attire, I’ve packed comfy casual clothes with a little bit of Vegas flair. I have similar pink denim shorts, sandals and a cute sparkly tank. Mine isn’t quite sequined all over. Just a bit of bling.

Night: In Vegas, nighttime is all about looking your best! The outfit above is nearly identical to what I have packed except my necklace is red! It’s safe to say that I packed too many dresses and skirts. Pair a rockin’ dress or sexy skirt with some pumps or wedges and a flashy necklace and earrings and you’re good to go!

Have you been to Vegas? What are your clothing essentials? I’m seriously hoping that I packed everything I need/want! No one likes to have only a few options to choose from. The more the merrier. Maybe this is why my suitcase weighs a ton. Thank goodness for Southwest Airlines and getting a free checked bag!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

OHP: Las Vegas Edition

Happy Friday Wednesday y’all! Tomorrow is the day. Vegas is here. I can’t believe it. Seriously. SO. Freaking. Excited. My focus will probably be lacking at work today while I think about all the little bits that I need to tie up tonight since I’m leaving early tomorrow morning! I’m sorry if you’re sick of hearing about my Vegas trip, but you only have to deal with me a bit longer 🙂 Today’s Oh! How Pinteresting! will be Las Vegas themed! Get excited.

Vegas Here I Come!
Here’s where I’ll stay!
We’ll definitely party in a few of these.
Daytime will be spent here. And maybe at some other pools 🙂
I would love one of these totes for traveling, but I’ll stick with my trusty Victoria’s Secret bags for now!
A few adorable outfits below:
I have a black dress similar to this with a red version of that necklace to wear out the night the bride wears white and the girls where black!
Stress will be relieved…
…dance moves will be present…
….good times will be had and memories will be made!
Watch out Vegas here we come!
Even though I’m gone, stay tuned! I’ve got an amazing guest blogger tomorrow and Friday Fancies on…well…Friday 🙂
Linking up here!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

A Glimpse into…

my travel bag! Anyone who’s been around here for a while knows how much I love to travel. I definitely travel around the US frequently for races, bachelorette parties, weddings and to visit family and friends. After living in Pittsburgh last year, I traveled even more since I had to fly to simply get home. Oh and go ahead and add travelling for work in there too! Now, I’m no expert traveler. I don’t jump on a plane every week and fly around the world. But, I do travel a lot. More than some people I know. And I love it. Since I’ll be leaving on a jet plane in just two days {Sin City here I come!}, I thought it would be fun to share with you what I keep in my travel bag! No I’m not going to go through my suitcase with you. I’m talking about my carry on tote. Gotta have stuff to do while you’re in the air!

World Travel Bag

Now if you ask me, a female traveler needs a good tote bag or brief case {I traveled with a brief case whenever I was carrying my laptop!}. I like totes because you can throw everything in there! They’re especially nice when you’re also carrying on your luggage because you can put a small purse or clutch in a tote if needed. Here’s the actual tote I’ll be bringing this weekend!

I have a few a ton of Victoria’s Secret totes that I’ve received free with specific purchases over the years. I’m not gunna lie, I love them! Of course I would love something leather, preferably designer and super pretty; however, I prefer spending money on plane tickets 🙂 Besides, it’s what’s inside the bag that counts!

  • Magazine: Something easy to flip through while you’re waiting at the airport or in the air. I am obsessed with time so I am always early to my flights. I’d rather be waiting around than rushing to catch my plane!
  • Kindle: A good book goes a long way! If you have something good to read, this can easily pass the time.
  • iPhone & headphones: iPhones have games and music – perfect combo! Headphones are especially nice when you have little ones around you or obnoxiously loud talkers in the row behind you.
  • Camera: Where I go, my camera goes! You never know what great pictures you’ll snap. Besides, I’d rather have it with me than in my luggage!
  • Water bottle: My Camelbak is my lifesaver. I am a big water drinker. I easily get my recommended 64 oz a day and some. Bringing along my Camelbak {empty of course} allows me to save money on buying overly priced water bottles at the airport. I just fill mine up at the water fountain. Some people are opposed to water fountains, but quite frankly, it doesn’t bother me a bit.
  • Makeup bag: I always bring a few necessities along with me just in case. If my luggage gets lost, I’d like to have some powder, mascara, eye liner, etc. Not to mention, it’s nice to touch up after you get off a plane. I always feel grungy after a day of travel!
  • Chapstick: Must have at all times. Enough said.
  • Gum: Sensitive ears anyone? This girl does and chewing gum during take off and landing helps a bit.
  • Snacks: I have this strange fear of being hungry and not being able to eat something that I want. Kind of weird. I’m a picky eater especially now with my crazy allergies. I keep snacks with me all the time. I have some in my work desk, my purse, etc. Larabars are the perfect go to snack! I love them 🙂

So what about you? What’s in your travel bag? Am I missing something?

Hope y’all have a wonderful Tuesday! It’s like my Thursday – not to rub it in!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Making Monday Motivational

Monday, Monday. Why so soon? I honestly have no reason to complain since I only have a 3 day work week, but my amazingly lazy Sunday could have been extended a few hours in preparation for my not so lazy weekend in Vegas 🙂

Speaking of Vegas, I’m still working my booty off to make sure that I look good at the pool of course!

Last Week’s Workouts
Monday: 4 mile run {8:35 pace} – lower body – quads, hamstrings, glutes
Tuesday: Elliptical trainer 40 minutes {4.5 miles varying intensities to increase burn!}
Wednesday: 3.4 mile easy run {8:49 pace} – upper body – biceps, triceps, lats, pecs, delts
Thursday: Abs and Push ups!
Friday: 3 mile walk/run around Memorial Park with hubs and pup
Saturday: Cardio Day – 55 minutes total split between the elliptical, stair master and treadmill
Sunday: OFF

Today I want to talk about Circuits! I just love circuit workouts. They’re the perfect all in one work out when you are short on time and still want to pack a punch. Of course, you can also lengthen these babies so that you’ll really feel sore the next day if you have the time! Circuit training allows you to combine both cardio and strength into one intense workout. Circuits are a series of moves performed one after the other with little rest in between. Depending on time, you can repeat multiple times. Here’s a sample workout that I created for y’all! Trust me, I’ve tested it and it’s awesome 🙂 I’m not biased or anything…

You can extend the cardio drill if you’re feeling up to it! If I’m doing this workout outside, I would probably run about a half mile of the cardio drill. However, at the gym it’s easier to just do cardio drills instead of jumping on a machine! Remember to warm up prior to your circuit and stretch a bit afterwards!

You better bet I’ll be doing this at the gym today! What are your workout plans for the week? Did you know that the gym is significantly more crowded on a Monday because people want to start their week strong especially after the weekend? Take the challenge to find yourself at the gym on Thursday and Friday too! Don’t get caught up in the beginning of the week motivation and lose it come the weekend! Just think of how much better you’ll feel!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

around the world

I don’t know if it’s because I have vacation on my mind or I feel couped up sitting in the office every day, but all I can think about is travelling the world.

I’ve wanted to travel my whole life. I didn’t even make it out of the country until I was 16 and that’s only if you count going to Mexico on a cruise out of the country.

I first made it overseas shortly after graduation from high school. My best friend Nicole’s family took me with then to Columbia! I’m talking about the country not the city in South Carolina y’all. We spent our first night in Bogota before flying to the beach town of Cartagena. After a few days of relaxing and soaking up Columbian rays, we headed back to Bogota for some shopping! This was an incredibly eye opening experience for me. Seeing police with machine guns walking the streets and being driven around in an armored car was a little scary, but no worries, we were incredibly safe. Nicole’s step dad, Jan, was working in Columbia at the time, so he knew all the ins and out and took every precaution! {Country Count: 2}

My European debut came in December 2007-January 2008 when my entire family flew to Lillehammer, Norway to visit our dear family friends, The Vorkinns. You may remember me talking about my Norwegian sister, Charlotte a time or two on the bloggy. Visiting Norway truly opened up my eyes to what else was out there! The world has so much to offer and quite frankly, I’ve seen so little of it! {Country Count: 4 – We were in Amsterdam too!}

Spring 2008, I went on a Spring Break cruise with all my college friends {and boyfriend…now the hubs} that went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Which uped my out of the US country count to 6. Jamaica was beautiful and eye opening at the same time and I kissed a sting ray in Grand Cayman.

Summer of 2009, the hubs and I {he was my fiance then}, went on a mini getaway to an all inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The beaches were phenomenal, but the country itself is saddening. People live in shacks, roads are torn apart and the country continues to survive because of tourism. I highly recommend Punta Cana for a beach resort get away! {Country count: 7}

My absolute favorite vacation EVER would have to be my honeymoon. I’m sure y’all are thinking…duh…but the hubs and I honeymooned in Barcelona, Espana. That’s right Spain! Amazing doesn’t even begin to describe our experience. I’ve realized that I’ve never actually talked about our honeymoon on the blog, but I believe it deserves an entire post for itself. It was amazing, crazy and interesting all pulled into one. We visited all the sites from Gaudi’s various houses, the Segrada Familia, castles, The Aquarium, tons of shops, the Olympic museum, MNAC and so much more. We even got stuck for a few extra days due to that Icelandic volcano erupting. Yup, true story. Like I said, it deserves its own post! {Country Count: 8}

Finally, while living in Pittsburgh last year, we were able to sneak away to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World – Niagra Falls! We decided that it was necessary to visit the Canadian side and explore for a weekend! View the full recap here! Niagra Falls truly is a wonder and a MUST see! {Country Count: 9}

After getting out of the country for the past 5 years, 2012 will be a completely domestic one for the hubs and I. However, we have BIG plans for 2013. The Gouglers are planning a Eurotrip! Watch out London, Paris and French wine country, here we come! Let the planning begin.

Do you love to travel? What exciting places have you been to? There are so many wonderful places to explore…even in the States!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

It’s OKAY!

IT’S OKAY…

…to wake up thinking today was Friday…not.
…to spend almost $100 on Vera Bradley because they had a sale on their messenger bag. I clearly needed a few other things 🙂
…that even though I have a closet full of wonderful clothes, I still think I need more for my upcoming trips!
…to get all dressed up for work just because it makes you feel good.
…to eat the giant double chocolate chip cookie you’ve been craving for days. Yes, every bite was worth it.

…to be obsessed with this shirt.
…to be obsessed with shows like So You Think You Can Dance, Dance Moms, Make It or Break It and any other show or special involving dance, gymnastics or cheerleading because you wish you could still do everything you could when you were in high school/college.
…to awkwardly run to your car when you realize the creepy man from the gym is leaving at the EXACT SAME TIME as you. Coincidence, I think not.
…to be excited about finally being able to run outside again {August 4th!} after the incident where I kind of ran when I shouldn’t and suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration.

…to think that it’s almost my birthday even if it’s in September.
…to be making a wish list already for said birthday above.
…to already be counting down the days until FOOTBALL! So freaking excited 🙂
…that the statement below is completely true.

Just remember that IT’S OKAY!
Linking up with Neely and Amber!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

L is for the way you Look at me…

If you’re first thoughts after reading the title were O is for the Only One I see…and then your head immediately jumped to The Parent Trap {Lindsay Lohan’s better days}, then we are probably destined to be friends for life. Just saying.

Now let’s start this post out right by saying that I’m loving all the love that I got from y’all on yesterday’s post! I love when I’m able to get so much love and feedback from my readers! I love y’all!!!

I’m loving that it’s only 8 days until Vegas and 21 days until Gulf Shores! Whoop for vacation! I’m seriously looking forward to having more than just 3 days off. I know it sounds silly, but even 4 days sounds glorious!

I’m loving my pretty and clean bedroom. Something about this weekend’s sprucing up has made me want to complete it! Hoping that this weekend the hubs and I can pick out some paint and the final piece of artwork we need for our room 🙂 {Please babe! I know you’re reading!}

I’m loving that there is finally sunshine in our future in H-town. It’s rained every day for the past 10 days. No lies. Finally the forecast is showing sunshine!

I’m loving meal planning. It’s been going great and it keeps me from buying so much useless stuff at the grocery store!

I’m loving that my wonderful husband is willing to sacrifice his time and money to take me to see Beauty and the Beast the Musical when it comes to Houston on my birthweek. Tickets went on sale yesterday. I am so freaking excited.

While I’m at it, I’m loving my hubby for doing things like taking me to Beauty and the Beast and doing this for me and being the best husband I could ever ask for.

Last February before taking me out to dinner and then to see Disney Princesses on Ice…best. husband. ever.

I’m loving that I have another weekend with no plans 🙂 More time to prep my body for Vegas! It’ll be even better this time because that handsome man in the picture above will be at home with me!

I’m loving life. Seriously. I’m so thankful to be where I am today.

I’m loving Pinterst and all of its endless, addicting possibilities.
