Shell Houston Open Adventures

This past weekend was definitely a fun one! I completely forgot to take a single picture Friday and Saturday, but got several on Sunday at the Shell Houston Open to make up for it!

Friday night I skipped my planned workout and decided to meet my friend Nicole, her fiance and coworker for happy hour at Brio Tuscan Grille in City Centre! I highly recommend it for any Houstonians! They have excellent happy hour prices for their appetizers/small plates and you can easily make a cheap meal out of it.

Saturday started off with a 6.5 mile run. I had only planned on running 5 miles. Unfortunately, Buffalo Bayou has some work being done in certain areas. One of the underpasses I had planned on taking was completely blocked off. I ended up having to take a different route which clearly took me much longer to get home. It wouldn’t have been an issue if I had been prepared for it! I didn’t have enough water for the warm, humid day which left me really sweaty and completely dehydrated. After I got all cleaned up, we headed back to City Centre, but this time was to go to Lululemon! I can’t give all the details of what I got because you’ll hear soon enough! Part of my anniversary gift from JP was an outfit from Lulu. Let’s just say…I LOVE IT! And…the top was on sale. Score! Our anniversary is a week from today! I can’t believe it’s already been 2 years. Anywho, after shopping and walking around City Centre on a gorgeous day, we decided to grab lunch at Ruggles Green and sat out on the patio. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love being outside and this weekend was perfect for it. For lunch, I ended up getting the RG Texas Goat Cheese Salad and it was so fresh and delicious. The rest of the day we spent hanging out at the pool with a group of friends, then we did dinner and drinks with Philip & Alison and Tyler & Ashley! We ended the night at Little Woodrow’s which is an outdoor bar in Midtown. More time outside for Amy!

Sunday was such a fun day because the hubs and I got to spend it at the Shell Houston Open! Now I am far from a good golfer and I never sit down and flip through the channels, see golf and stop to watch. However, I enjoy playing golf {when I’m not getting too frustrated} and I’ll usually watch the Masters with the hubs come April.

I actually had a great time out at the open! It was a beautiful day, we got lots of walking in and we were able to see some of the pros! Our tickets were for the SHO Club at the 16th hole {the benefits of the hubs working for Shell}. We did wander around quite a bit though. We followed Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley for a while and we were able to get pretty close at some holes!

Keegan is on the far left, view of the green from our seats in the middle, Phil making an awesome shot out of a crappy situation at hole 14 on the right!

We were out there for about 5 hours and didn’t get sunburned too bad. I would consider that a success. Have you ever been to a professional golf tournament? Would you want to go? I’m not going to lie with the Masters this weekend, I kind of want to get out there and play myself! I think a trip to the driving range is in store before we actually get to a course 🙂

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! I’m lovin’ that it’s a short week. Now so much work to do with one day less to get it done. Back to the drawing board for this girl!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,
