Making Mondays Motivational: Finding Balance

Is it Monday already? Were you able to squeeze in any workouts this weekend? I’m not going to lie, on Sunday, working out was not at the top of my list of things to do, but I still managed! Sometimes you just need a little something new to change this up a bit!

Last week’s workouts:
Monday: 50 minute Suicide workout – arms, legs, cardio
Tuesday: OFF – Does walking Maggie count?
Wednesday: 45 minute run – 5 miles {8:39 pace}
Thursday: 6 mile run – 52:45 {8:47 pace}
Friday: OFF
Saturday: 10 mile run
Sunday: WOD from PBR {I modified it by going up and down the 2 flights of stairs in my house after each exercise to add a bit of cardio!} FYI – with the stairs, this took me 17 minutes and I burned 150 calories!

Some days I wake up excited to go for a run or head out to boot camp. Other days I want to hit the snooze on my alarm. Sometimes I actually do. Finding balance is a key essential to a healthy lifestyle. In order to find your balance, you must listen and understand your body. On Tuesday, I planned to go for about a 3 mile run. I left work with a headache and heartburn like you wouldn’t believe {no I’m not preggo, I just have the stomach of a 40-year-old man}. I chose to rest instead. That’s what my body needed and I listened. Now just because you are sore is not a reason to skip out! Being sore is a good think! Instead, just try to work different muscle groups to allow those sore muscles to fully recover. You’ll give another part of your body the chance to feel the pang of accomplishment 🙂

Having trouble getting motivated or finding the proper amount of fitness balance in your life? I’d love to talk to you and give you some workout ideas! I’ll be posting my Monday – Suicide workout later this week as soon as I get the pictures of the moves taken!

Happy Monday! Hope you get to squeeze in a workout to kick off the week!
