Goals!

Here we are and it’s already January 3rd. 3 days into the new year! I must say, I am really looking forward to 2012. I’m pretty sure I say this every year, and it’s not because the previous year was ‘bad’ by any means. I think it’s just because it’s always fun to have a fresh start, a blank canvas, to see where life takes you. Last year, life took me to Pittsburgh and I had an amazing year exploring a new part of the country and making new friends. This year has brought me back home and I’m so excited to see where my little family is headed!

I was going to recap today on my fun NYE day/night, but I’ll save that and all my pictures for tomorrow. Today I want to focus a bit more on my goals for 2012. I may be a bit behind seeing as though we are already into 2012, but it’s still so early that it doesn’t bother me much 🙂 I’m not so sure I believe in New Year’s Resolutions because resolutions are often broken and forgotten. Goals are something attainable that you can work towards. As cheesy as it sounds, as long as you’re setting SMART goals, you can achieve them. I believe in goal setting and love the idea of displaying my goals for all my bloggy friends to hold me accountable…sort of 🙂

Goals for 2012
  1. Laugh more and stress less {I am notorious for stressing out over some little things. I want to be able to laugh about little issues instead of letting things get to me}
  2. Be a caring and understanding wife {See goal 1. Stressing out = less caring and understanding}
  3. Be healthy {I consider myself a pretty healthy person, but I want to worry less about the number on the scale and more about how I feel. It’s so much more important! I preach this to my friends, but have a hard time living it myself some days!}
  4. Knock out candy {Seriously, I don’t need candy. I could never knock out all sweets, but candy it doable — with the exception of a piece of chocolate every now and again!}
  5. Be a pleasant person to be around {Some days it hard, especially at the office when you’re frustrated. I want to be the person that people enjoy talking to in the employee kitchen or walking down the hall — Not that I wasn’t before, but it can never hurt to try to be nicer!}
  6. Run more, complain less {I love running, it is my stress relief. Instead of stressing or complaining, I need to let it out in a more productive manner. Run/work out/yoga/etc.}
  7. Train for the Houston Marathon in 2012 {It’ll be my first marathon January 2013!}
  8. Join a church {We’re finally settled. I want to find a church that the hubby and I love and actually become official members!}
  9. Spend less money on clothes {I’m an excellent bargain shopper and do a pretty good job at not spending too much, but after buying a house and needing new furniture…I could save a few bucks here!}
  10. Be spontaneous! {I want to shake myself out of the day to day routine every once in a while! Whether it be a weekend get away, playing hooky with the hubs or cooking a super special week night dinner, I want to try and spice life up a bit!}

Those are my current goals for 2012 and I look forward to the lifestyle change. After all, that’s what goals do, they change your mind set and day to day life which is pretty much the definition of a lifestyle change! I hope that 2012 has been good to you so far! Have you set any goals for the new year? Anything you’re super excited about?

Don’t forget, it’s almost my blog-iversary and I’m SO close to 50 followers! I would love for you to follow me…if you’re interested of course! My very first giveaway is coming as soon as my blog-iversary comes around {January 16th!} Get ready to be bombarded with NYE pictures tomorrow! Happy first day back to the real world!

Until next time…
With love and God bless,

Sharing is caring!
